CAL FIRE
/ San Luis Obispo Unit Infrastructure Clearance
This project targets “at risk” communities determined by our Unit Fire Plan. requests funding to initiate fuel reduction for the County of San Luis Obispo. This project targets areas of critical infrastructure that will need to be protected in the event of a major fire event in San Luis Obispo County.

CAL FIRE / San Luis Obispo Unit Prevention Billboards
This project targets community involvement for the FireWise Community Program. CAL FIRE/ San Luis Obispo understands that public education on wildfire topics will prevent some unwanted wildland fires. Topics will be targeted through the use of the ten year ignition history, identified in the San Luis Obispo Unit Fire Management Plan. Grant funds will be used to contract with CBS Outdoor Advertising to produce and advertise two roadside billboards in “at risk” communities with in San Luis Obispo County. These signs will direct residence to the “Are You Ready?” website.
