CAL FIRE - New Wildland - Urban Interface Codes

The ever increasing number of structures and people in California wildlands and the growing importance of the state’s natural resources create an ever growing need for fire prevention and planning for inevitable fires that will occur in the state.

Through comprehensive engineering and law enforcement programs the CAL FIRE to prevent fires. Reduction of loss from California wildlands each year is the goal of extensive statewide planning by each CAL FIRE Unit, communities, coordination with non-profit groups and interagency cooperation.
