Station 35 - LAS TABLAS
Las Tablas Fire Station 35 is located on the southern edge of Lake Nacimiento and operates seasonally during the declared fire season. Positioned within a region known for its rugged terrain and significant wildland fire potential, Station 35 provides critical fire protection and emergency response services to the surrounding communities and recreational areas.
The Las Tablas response area is considered a high-risk environment due to its dense vegetation, steep mountainous terrain, and limited recent fire history. These conditions contribute to a substantial fuel load and increase the potential for rapidly developing wildland fires. The station’s strategic location allows firefighters to respond quickly to incidents in this challenging landscape while supporting regional wildfire suppression efforts throughout northern San Luis Obispo County.
Station 35 is staffed by a Fire Captain/Operator and two to three firefighters and operates a CAL FIRE ICS Type III four-wheel-drive wildland fire engine. Designed specifically for off-road and remote-area operations, the apparatus provides firefighters with the mobility and capabilities necessary to access difficult terrain and respond effectively to wildland fires and other emergencies.
Through its seasonal staffing and specialized resources, Las Tablas Fire Station 35 serves as an essential component of the county’s wildland fire protection system, helping safeguard residents, visitors, natural resources, and recreational areas surrounding Lake Nacimiento.
